Issue 18: Our Embodied Mess
Spring 2026

Issue 18: Our Embodied Mess celebrates the messy and imperfect nature of creativity. It continues The Collective’s mission of highlighting individuality, connection, and creative expression while embracing the human touch behind the work. I developed the theme and visual direction around the idea of creative process, using tangled forms, layered elements, and imperfect details to reflect the energy and unpredictability of creating.

Our Embodied Mess explores the beauty of the creative process: the imperfect, tangled, and human touch of making art. This issue celebrates the marks, mistakes, experiments, and textures that make creative work feel alive. It reflects on the connections we build through art and the proof of human touch that exists in every imperfect detail.
